8 Ways to increase your Happy Hormones instantly!

Happiness is a crucial part of one’s life, thus it is very essential to look for it. Experiencing happiness is essential for our emotional and physical health both. A stronger sense of happiness leads to better relationships, increase social connections and contribution to the lives of others as well. However, in today’s time there are very few people who look after their mental well-being; in response they get a lot of health issues in the long run. Therefore, one should pay attention to their brain along with the other works in day to day life. Happiness on the other hand does not come easily to some people, you may have heard many people complaining that they have everything in their lives still they don’t feel content. Why it is so? It is because of the low level of production of the “Happy Hormones” in the body! Like every other thing in the body, happiness is also controlled by several hormones, low or no production of which leads the affected person to the state of Depression!

When we do certain things our brain releases “Happy hormones”, in the result of which we feel happy! There are several hormones responsible for our mood such as “Dopamine” which makes us feel good, “Serotonin” hormone regulates the mood, “Oxytocin” which is also called as love hormone and “Endorphins” helps us to get relief from stress and discomfort. 1- Yoga

Happy hormones are naturally released when any person gets involved in any physical activity, as mind and body both are interconnected with each other. Hence it is very necessary to stay physically active every day in order to balance your happy hormones. Yoga is one such excellent way to stay physically active; it is being practiced since ages and does not only help the body to stay in good shape but cures many diseases. 4- Helping the needy ones.

You might have observed that sometimes you help others or give some charity to any poor; you feel a great sense of pleasure from within, it is because the human mind is meant in that way, it feels great when help others and see them happy. You may have heard that doctors advices the patients of depression to involve in social causes, why is it so? It is to overcome from the feeling of worthlessness, loneliness and guilt. 5- Meditation

Just as your body needs exercise to be healthy, your brain too needs exercise to stay healthy. Meditation is one such excellent mental exercise which helps you to stay relaxed and live or focus on the present moment. It decreases the frequency of thoughts and hence reduces overthinking or negative thoughts. Why meditation is the most reliable among other activities is that it being practiced since the ancient time and is approved by the modern medical science as well.

6- Laughing

You may have heard the popular phrase, “Laughter is the best medicine”. It is actually true, laughter is proved to be a strong medicine, now the modern science have also accepted that people who laugh stay much healthy. Laughter strengthens your immune system, boosts mood, diminishes pain, and protects you from the damaging effects of stress. When you laugh even for few minutes, your brain releases several happy hormones in very less time. Thus, try to laugh every day by enjoying with your family or friends, watching comedy shows, readying books or playing any of your favorite game.

7- Include tryptophan rich food in your diet.

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid needed for the production and maintenance of the body's proteins, muscles, enzymes, and neurotransmitters. It plays a vital role in the development of happy hormones in the brain, your body cannot produce it, and thus you must get it from your diet. 8- Spend time on activities you enjoy.
